Large Size Women Shoes

With over 30 percent of all women’s shoe sales being size nine and above, there is big money in selling large size women shoes. The fact is women’s feet are getting bigger. While women over the age of 35 have an average shoe size of seven and a half, their younger counterparts average a shoe size of eight and a half.

This “growing” demand for women’s shoes in sizes nine through fifteen has spawned many new retailers and shoe manufacturers who specialize in larger sizes. Twenty years ago, a woman with big feet had very limited options in shoes. Now, she can choose from a vast array of business, casual, and even golfing shoes.

It is estimated that approximately 85 percent of women buy shoes in the wrong size. Most often, they buy shoes that are too small. Ill-fitting shoes can contribute to a whole host of medical problems including bunions, corns, hammertoes, and calluses. With the larger sizes more commonly available now, women are finding the styles that they want in the sizes that they need. This is a welcome relief for the many women who have bought shoes in a too-small size because there was no other option.

If you are a woman with big, glorious feet, make sure that you have both of your feet sized every time you buy shoes. Take the measurement standing up and sitting down. Ask the salesperson for suggestions on shoe brands that might work with your foot size and shape.

If you are trying to minimize the size of your feet, look for shoes with rounded toes and moderate heels. You may want to stay away from pointy pumps, ballerina flats, and t-straps that can lengthen the appearance of your feet. It is also best to stick to neutral tones or colors that blend well with hose or pants.

Finally, keep in mind that if the average shoe size of women keeps growing, you may find yourself having smaller than average feet. Those jokes about your less than dainty tootsies will certainly be a thing of the past.

Pearl Necklace

The price of a pearl necklace depends on the quality of its pearls. Saltwater pearls are generally more expensive than freshwater ones, which are cultured. The sheen and the thickness of the pearls’ nacre also affect the price, as well as the size and roundness of the pearls themselves. Pearl necklaces of various colors are available on the market. Smaller pearls in light hues of blue or pink are usually more suitable for young children, while the creamier, ivory-toned pearls are preferred by older women. Jewelry pieces made from black pearls are very, very expensive, since these pearls are so rare.

According to Chinese folklore, pearls are the tears of a dragon. In Roman mythology, they are the tears of Venus. Jewelry designers, in their tireless efforts to do justice to the legendary beauty of these gems, have been adding their own twists to the pearl necklace. Aside from the classic strand, the pearls used in necklaces are sometimes set in gold, silver or platinum. Some designers also mix pearls with other gems to create a unique effect. Extra ornaments, such as charms or a brooch, can also be attached to a pearl necklace to give it a personalized flair.

Caring for a pearl necklace does not involve a lot of fuss. The most advisable thing to do is to wear it often, because if it’s stored away for long periods of time, it will dry up and lose its sheen. The body’s natural oils will keep the pearls looking lustrous and fresh. It’s also important to avoid having the pearls come in contact with substances such as hair spray or body lotion, since these can also adversely affect the pearls’ condition.

The popularity of the pearl necklace has never waned both among ordinary people and society’s elite. The quintessential fashion plate, Jackie Kennedy, had a passion for pearls; so does actress Maria Berenson. Other celebrities often photographed wearing pearl necklaces are Michelle Pfeiffer, Sophia Loren, Jennifer Lopez and Paris Hilton. The versatility of pearls is such that fashion experts are even predicting an increase in the number of men who will start wearing pearl-accented dress accessories. For now, however, there is very little to surpass the elegance of the sight of a pearl necklace gracing the neckline of a woman, whether she’s a celebrity or not.

Casual Dressing

Take time to build a casual wardrobe and you will always feel more put together and comfortable.

1. Choose your outfits in your best colors. Start with 3 colors that look great on you and build around those.

2. For workout clothes buy a sweat suit that suits you in color and shape. You will always look great leaving the gym and won’t be too embarrassed to stop into a store to pick something up on the way home.

3. Jewelry should not be worn with a bathing suit; both perfume and jewelry should not be worn at the gym.

4. Jeans are a great casual item and look better if they are in good condition and are more slimming if they are in a darker color.

5. Women find it difficult to get jeans to fit well and often wear jeans that are not very flattering. To find the perfect jeans for your body type takes a little work, time and patience and you may have to try on a good number of pairs before you find the right fit.

6. Stay away from tight fitting pants or jeans if you do no have slim thighs. A looser fit is much more slimming and flattering.

7. Match your accessories to the theme of your outfit. A casual outfit calls for casual accessories.

Summer Wardrobe

Be HONEST! What is your body shape? Even thin people have parts that should not be enhanced and those that should. Is it time for me to say it already? “Just because they make it in your size does not mean you should buy it.”

Arms – are yours toned? Then wear sleeveless and capped sleeves. If there is even the hint of flab, keep it covered. OK, stop whining. If you buy the correct fabric, you won’t be hot. Natural fabrics, such as cotton are much cooler than synthetic fabrics. In fact, having your arms constantly exposed to the sun can make you even warmer.

Bust – If you have a large bust, do not accentuate with tops gathered around the bust or with horizontal stripes. If you have a smaller bust, wearing wrap, criss-cross, or gathered tops will make you look a little bigger.

Stomach & Hips – Sigh! Here we go again with those low-rise pants. Please, let me get through one day without seeing flab hanging over a pair of low-rise pants. Wearing low-rise pants and a short shirt with that hint of flab hanging over makes you look ridiculous, not cool. If you want to cover a little tummy bulge, wear a shirt that cuts in under the bust and then flares a little.

Legs & Thighs – Look at the back of your legs. If they are not toned or if you have an excess of cellulite, avoid short shorts.

Legs & Ankles – Pant lengths are crucial here. If your pants are the wrong lengths you will look dumpy, short, like you have all leg or you have chunky ankles. Capris and cropped pants come in all lengths so select one that is flattering to your shape.

So here are the 5 rules:

  1. Wear a length sleeve that makes your arms look in proportion.
  2. Wear tops that skim the bust to diminish or gather at the bust to enhance.
  3. Wear shirts that flatter not make you fatter. The same goes for the rise of pants.
  4. Watch the cut of your pants. You don’t want to accentuate hips, knees or thighs if those are problem areas.
  5. The length and shape of your legs and ankles will determine the length of your pants.

OK, I feel compelled to say it just one more time. “Just because they make it in your size does not mean you should buy it.”

On a final note…don’t wear sandals and flip flops if you are not going to take care of your feet.

Stay tuned for our next article on bathing suits that flatter not fatten.

Care for Lambswool

There are two main types of ingredient that may result in the deterioration of a Lambswool cardigan or wool sweater washed under incorrect conditions:

Sorry, but it gets a little technical from here on.

In addition to the normal surfactants, emulsifiers, perfumes etc contained in ordinary detergents, the so-called ‘bio’ detergents also include a small quantity of enzymes. These are protein digesting biological catalysts, and are effective at decomposing stains or soiling in which protinaceous material is the main constituent. Egg, blood, and most other food stains etc are all protein based and will be effectively removed by enzyme-containing detergents.

The problem is that like fur and hair, the histological structure of the fibre in Lambswool cardigans and sweaters is based on the polypeptide and disulphide linked protein Keratin. This can itself be affected by the biological components in some of these detergents. It is possible that enzymes may attack the cell membrane complex of the wool fibres, and lead to disintegration of the structure into its component cortical cells, this leads to a hole filled Lambswool garment.

In order to increase their apparent cleansing efficiency, some washing powders include bleaches or ‘bleach activators’. These are usually of an oxidative nature, though can also be reductive. Again, because of Lambswool and wool’s inherently natural characteristics, the fibre can be damaged by strong solutions in these bleach-containing powders.

More often than not, these types of washing powders will cause fading of colour to Lambswool cardigans and sweaters, even erosion of the fibre cuticle and a corresponding deterioration in resilience and strength.

Perfect Customized Engagement Ring

Well-established Jeweler

The jeweler that you choose should have an excellent reputation within the community as well as on the internet. You should ask family, friends, and co-workers if the jewelry store you are considering is a wise choice and if any of them have personal experience in dealing with the shop. Take your friend’s recommendation seriously, as they have no reason to lie to you.

If the jeweler has a web presence, read over the most recent reviews left on the company website and check out any reviews listed on popular business feedback sites such as Yelp! or Angie’s List. Again, take these reviews to heart, as people leaving feedback have no reason to lie. However, if you find a bad review nestled in the midst of numerous good reviews, you can probably dismiss it as simply a disgruntled customer having a bad day.

You also want to make sure that the gemstone you are buying comes with gemological Institute of America, Inc. (GIA) certification. A responsible jeweler should be able to show you the GIA report with no questions asked.

Start Your Search in Plenty of Time

This is sort of a no-brainer in terms of customized jewelry. You do not want to begin looking for a jewelry shop to create you customized ring right before you plan to pop the question. Finding a great jeweler in itself takes time, not to mention the time it takes to actually design the ring. Give yourself at least six months to complete the entire process.

Know What to Look for in a Diamond

Anyone on the search for a diamond ring, pendant, necklace, bracelet, etc. should be familiar with the four C’s: cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. Know that the higher the ranking the diamond has in the four C’s means the better quality of gemstone you are getting. However, this also means that the piece will be more expensive than its lower ranking counterparts will.

Once you have familiarized yourself with the 4 C’s, it’s time to determine what your budget shall be. You should lock in a solid budget for yourself before ever setting foot in a jewelry store. It is very easy to overspend once your eyes lock on all of those gorgeous engagement rings, especially if you are gaining inspiration for a custom design.

Consider Custom Designing a Wedding Band/Engagement Ring Set

If you want both rings to complement one another, deign them at the same time using the same jeweler. This ensures the rings will sport the same style, cut, color, and clarity. This option will also save you money as most jewelry shops offer package deals.

Light Weight Necklace

A magnificent necklace is, thus, a part of the life of a lady, no matter from which age, cast or community group she belongs. This piece of jewelry has been in tradition since our ancestors and we, the Y-Gen ladies, have inherited it from our mothers, grandmothers, great grandmothers or someone else before her. This ornament is a compliment to the Indian culture and heritage and we will love to pass it on to our next generation also. But time has changed a lot and women no more stay only at home. The modern women manage household & office at the same time. Therefore, no matter, how much she loves to adorn necklaces, her daily activities won’t allow it. But when ‘there is a will, there is a way’. Keeping this problem in mind, many jewelers have started making light weight necklaces that are not only sassy but classy, without that extra weight.

These necklaces can be worn in office parties, casual ceremonies, festive occasions and in any anniversary. They will go perfectly with all kind of dresses whether it is traditional saree, classic salwar kameez or trendy Anarkali gown. The feature that makes it unique is its light weight for which it can be easily carried out whenever you want.

Modern jewelry designing houses strive to make necklaces that are worth wearing. Precious metals like gold, silver, platinum can be used to manufacture them, but they go fit & perfect in gold. The light weight comes when the gold is purified and tactfully engraved in order to make magnificent designs. The necklaces are then sent for the hallmark authentication and after a few assessment, if they pass the tests, the hallmark is engraved on them.

Stockings

Nylon stockings were scarce during WWII because all available nylon was needed in the war effort. A lot of nylon was used in making parachutes. Production of nylon stockings started up again at the end of WWII.

A new trend in stockings was started in the 1960s with the introduction of pantyhose. Until the introduction of pantyhose, stockings had to be worn with garter belts or girdles. The stockings were held up with clasps attached to the girdle or garter belt. Today, pantyhose are available in a multitude of styles. These stockings come in sheer, ultra sheer, nude, sandal toe, and reinforced toe. Some pantyhose come with built in body shaping and control tops to trim and smooth the tummy, rear, and hips. Women can even buy an anti-cellulite pantyhose. These stockings promise to reduce cellulite appearance by using micro beads imbedded into the fabric. Results are visible after four weeks. The beads remain effective for five washings. The stockings firm and tone legs for a sleeker look.

Nylon stockings come in a wide variety of colors and are also available as anklets, knee highs and thigh highs. Support hose are even available for those women who need some relief from the pain of vericose veins. These stockings are designed to relieve pain caused by varicose veins by relieving the pressure of the stocking against the leg. No part of the leg gets too much or too little pressure.

Many women enjoy sexy thigh high stockings. Some stockings need a garter belt to stay in place, while others use a knit in elastic or grip to help them stay snug against the thigh. Women can choose to wear fishnet thigh high stockings or ones with lace tops, or even ones with back seams running down the back of the leg.

Types Of Gemstone Jewelry

Composite gemstones

These are gemstones made from a small piece of a desirable, genuine stone that has been combined with an imitation or inexpensive stone. There are two main types of composite gemstones that you can come across in the market: Doublets and triplets. Doublets are made from large, inexpensive piece of material topped by a slice of gemstone. Triplets are units that are assembled in three parts instead of two. The divisions are hard to pick unless you observe them under the microscope.

Even if you don’t have the knowledge on gemstones you can tell that the stones being sold to you are not real by their names. If you come across gemstones with fancy names such as American ruby, Oriental emerald, or Australian jade, raise a red flag and ask a professional to take a look at them.

Stabilized and reconstituted gemstones

Stabilization is the process where the gem is forced to bond using pressure. The material being forced to bond is usually too soft and chalky to use. Reconstituted gemstones on the other hand are made from mixing powders of the real stone and binding them using a binding agent. Coloring agents are usually added to enhance the colors of the stabilized and reconstituted stone. Since most of the units made using this method are fragile, most of them come backed up with materials that make them last longer.

The most common and popular representative of stabilized or reconstituted gemstones is Turquoise.

Enhanced gemstone

This is a real gemstone that has a foil placed underneath it in order to make it look more brilliant or change its color.
